Regenerative medicine is a field of medicine focused on healing injuries or defects by creating new organs or tissues in a laboratory for transplantation into the body or by stimulating the body to regenerate them on its own. The approaches are sometimes combined: partial tissue or supportive biological material produced in a laboratory and transplanted into the body may encourage the regeneration of natural tissue.
