Biomarkers
Biomarkers are measurable biological indicators that reflect biological processes, medical conditions, pathological states, or responses to medical treatments. Biomarkers can be natural indicators (such as high fever, swelling, or low hemoglobin) or artificial markers injected into a patient to assess their condition (e.g., PET-CT scan). The research of Prof. Sharon Rothstein is focused on developing a biomarker called a radiotracer, based on radioactive copper.
