2023 Meeting of the Israeli Society of Gene and Cell Therapy

The 2023 meeting of the Israeli Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ISGCT) was held this year at Bar Ilan University. Dr. Ayal Hendel from the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences served as the organizing committee chair. The conference was attended by researchers from a variety of Israeli leading universities, hospitals, and companies, with as Prof. Matthew Porteus from Stanford University as the keynote speaker. At the conference, researchers presented studies from the fields including T-cell engineering, genome editing, stem cell research, and more. The researchers also discussed the challenges that exist in gene and cell therapy.

Researchers from The Dangoor Center for Personalized Medicine presented their groundbreaking works at the conference. Dr. Ayal Hendel presented an innovative gene therapy strategy for the "bubble boy disease" using CRISPR. Prof. Cyrille Cohen from the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences addressed enhanced T-cells for immunotherapy with novel switch receptors and redirected metabolism.
