Rector's Award for Scientific Innovation for 2023

Three researchers from the Dangoor Center for Personalized Medicine have been awarded Rector’s Award for Scientific Innovation for 2023, in recognition of their research achievements in 2022.

The winners are –

Prof. Arie Gruzman from the Department of Chemistry for the development of a small organic molecule that showed significant therapeutic effects in animal models of autoimmune diseases, by inhibiting the migration of white blood cells to the damaged tissues.

Prof. Cyrille Cohen from the Mina and Everard Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences for the development of a new treatment for multiple myeloma cancer patients and AL amyloidosis patients based on white blood cell genetic engineering.

Prof. Rachela Popovtzer from the Alexander Kofkin Faculty of Engineering for her research in the development of smart nanoparticles for early diagnosis of diseases and targeted drug delivery.
